Wibble wobble, wibble wobble…

3 (and a bit) weeks in and I had my first proper moment of anxiety yesterday regarding my braces/teeth.

As everything starts to move, teeth that have barely touched each other before are now touching – and it’s making things feel odd in my mouth. One tooth in particular feels very wobbly! Now, when I say very wobbly I’m not saying it’s going to fall out (I don’t think!) but it’s definitely feeling less stable than the rest of my teeth.

As I’m human and still relatively childlike I keep wobbling it, and tonguing it – checking it’s ‘wobble-rate’.

I was so concerned about it that I was going to ring the Lincoln Orthodontic Centre this morning but then I thought – I’ll just google it…..

First result to the search ‘wobbly teeth braces’ is:

“If your teeth begin feeling a little loose, don’t worry; this is normal! Your braces must first loosen your teeth in order to move them into the right position. Once your teeth have been repositioned, they will no longer be loose.

Well, actually, now I’ve read that, that would seem rather obvious wouldn’t it?! I’m going to try to stop prodding around in my mouth and trust my teeth to do what they need to do….if I can!

SO – to sum up: without wobbles they can’t move. If they can’t move they can’t get straighter….der! 😉
